Another great idea to pucker up your cake with fondant is to have something like fondant checkers. Have a basic square cake and cover it again with butter cream frosting. Put a layer of red fondant over it and using black fondant butter cream cut squares out of it. The butter cream once again comes to the rescue to stick these squares. These squares then have to be stuck on the red fondant in a pattern resembling a checkerboard. After this, create design similar to checkers by cutting black and red circles and embossing this design on top of each checker with the help of a cake stamp.
